Spend 5 days discovering Amman, Jordan — Semi-arid climate — hot, dry summers (highs around 32-33°C) and cool, sometimes wet winters (highs around 12°C, occasional snow in Amman). March-May and September-November, for mild temperatures ideal for exploring Petra and desert sites on foot. This itinerary blends Petra Archaeological Park, Jerash Roman ruins, Rainbow Street with free time to explore at your own pace, backed by round-trip flights, handpicked accommodation, and a dedicated travel consultant from enquiry through departure.
DAY 1
Land at Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) and take your included private transfer to your hotel. After settling in, ease into the trip with a relaxed visit to Petra Archaeological Park — UNESCO World Heritage rock-cut city, including the Treasury and Monastery. Round off the evening with a welcome dinner introducing you to local flavors.
DAY 2
Morning visit to Jerash Roman ruins — One of the best-preserved Roman provincial cities outside Italy. In the afternoon, continue to Wadi Rum desert jeep tour and overnight camp — Mars-like red desert landscape with Bedouin-run camps. Evening free to explore local restaurants and nightlife.
DAY 3
Morning visit to Dead Sea float and mud spa — Buoyant swim and mineral-mud treatment at a Dead Sea resort. In the afternoon, continue to Amman Citadel — Hilltop ruins overlooking the city, including a Roman temple and Umayyad palace. Evening free to explore local restaurants and nightlife.
DAY 4
Full-day excursion to Petra, a popular side trip from Amman. Return to Amman in the evening with time free to explore on your own.
DAY 5
Enjoy a final morning at leisure — perhaps one last visit to Rainbow Street or some souvenir shopping — before your private transfer to AMM for your departure flight.

We added a couple of optional activities beyond Dead Sea float and mud spa and don't regret it. Good value for what was included, and the food recommendations from our guide were spot on.

Booked this as a family of 4 trip and it was well paced. Dead Sea float and mud spa in particular stood out. A couple of the transfers ran a little late but nothing that spoiled the trip.

Petra Archaeological Park alone was worth the trip, but combined with Downtown Amman souqs this itinerary really delivered. Breakfast at the hotel was good every day and the local guide was knowledgeable.

Amman is stunning and this package covered the essentials well, especially Downtown Amman souqs. The hotel could have been a little closer to the center but transport was easy.
