Spend 7 days discovering Jakarta, Indonesia — Tropical climate — hot and humid year-round (highs around 31-33°C), with a wetter monsoon season roughly November to March. May to September — the dry season, avoiding the heaviest monsoon rains. This itinerary blends National Monument (Monas), Ancol Dreamland, Kota Tua (Old Town) with free time to explore at your own pace, backed by round-trip flights, handpicked accommodation, and a dedicated travel consultant from enquiry through departure.
DAY 1
Land at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) and take your included private transfer to your hotel. After settling in, ease into the trip with a relaxed visit to National Monument (Monas) — Independence monument with an observation deck over the city. Round off the evening with a welcome dinner introducing you to local flavors.
DAY 2
Morning visit to Ancol Dreamland — Waterfront entertainment complex with beaches, an aquarium, and theme parks. In the afternoon, continue to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah — Cultural park showcasing all of Indonesia's provinces in miniature. Evening free to explore local restaurants and nightlife.
DAY 3
Morning visit to Museum MACAN — Modern and contemporary art museum. In the afternoon, continue to Kota Tua (Old Town) — Dutch colonial-era square and buildings, Jakarta's historic core. Evening free to explore local restaurants and nightlife.
DAY 4
Full-day excursion to Thousand Islands (Kepulauan Seribu), a popular side trip from Jakarta. Return to Jakarta in the evening with time free to explore on your own.
DAY 5
A lighter day to recharge, shop, or add an optional experience. Popular choices include Menteng heritage neighborhood — your consultant can book add-ons like this on request.
DAY 6
Morning visit to Istiqlal Mosque — One of the largest mosques in Southeast Asia, open to respectful visitors. In the afternoon, continue to Sunda Kelapa harbor — Historic port still used by traditional wooden Bugis schooners. Evening free to explore local restaurants and nightlife.
DAY 7
Enjoy a final morning at leisure — perhaps one last visit to National Monument (Monas) or some souvenir shopping — before your private transfer to CGK for your departure flight.

We added a couple of optional activities beyond Ancol Dreamland and don't regret it. Good value for what was included, and the food recommendations from our guide were spot on.

Everything was handled for us — flights, hotel, transfers, and tours to Sunda Kelapa harbor and Sunda Kelapa harbor. Great communication from the consultant before departure too.

Museum MACAN alone was worth the trip, but combined with Museum MACAN this itinerary really delivered. Breakfast at the hotel was good every day and the local guide was knowledgeable.

Booked this as a group trip and it was well paced. Museum MACAN in particular stood out. A couple of the transfers ran a little late but nothing that spoiled the trip.
