Nature · Adventure · Bucket List · Winter · Summer · Weekend Getaway
Spend 2 days discovering Patagonia, Argentina — Cold, windy, sub-polar climate; summer highs around 18-20°C (Dec-Feb) with long daylight hours, and winter highs near 2-5°C (Jun-Aug) with strong winds, limited daylight, and reduced tourist services. December to February, the Southern Hemisphere summer, for the best weather for glacier trekking and hiking; the region is far south and effectively winds down in winter. This itinerary blends Perito Moreno Glacier boardwalk park entry, Perito Moreno mini-trekking, Los Glaciares National Park (El Chaltén sector) with free time to explore at your own pace, backed by round-trip flights, handpicked accommodation, and a dedicated travel consultant from enquiry through departure.
DAY 1
Land at Comandante Armando Tola International Airport (El Calafate) (FTE) and take your included private transfer to your hotel. With limited time on the ground, head straight out to Perito Moreno Glacier boardwalk park entry — Los Glaciares National Park viewing platforms. Round off the evening with a welcome dinner introducing you to local flavors.
DAY 2
Start early with a visit to Perito Moreno mini-trekking — Guided ice-trekking with crampons on the glacier. Grab a last taste of local life before your private transfer to FTE for your onward flight.
Argentina allows visa-free tourist entry for up to 90 days for most Western passport holders (US, UK, EU, Canada, Australia); no advance visa is needed for most nationalities for short tourist stays.

We added a couple of optional activities beyond Perito Moreno mini-trekking and don't regret it. Good value for what was included, and the food recommendations from our guide were spot on.

Patagonia is stunning and this package covered the essentials well, especially Torres del Paine day trip (Chile). The hotel could have been a little closer to the center but transport was easy.

Glaciarium Ice Museum alone was worth the trip, but combined with El Calafate lakefront promenade this itinerary really delivered. Breakfast at the hotel was good every day and the local guide was knowledgeable.
