Spend 7 days discovering San Diego, United States — Mild semi-arid Mediterranean climate, one of the most consistent in the US: warm, dry summers (highs 25-27°C with low humidity) and mild winters (highs 18-19°C), with minimal rainfall concentrated Dec-Mar. March to May and September to November for warm, dry, uncrowded weather (highs 21-24°C); San Diego's mild climate makes it a solid year-round destination, though June brings a brief "June gloom" morning marine layer. This itinerary blends San Diego Zoo, San Diego Zoo Safari Park, Balboa Park with free time to explore at your own pace, backed by round-trip flights, handpicked accommodation, and a dedicated travel consultant from enquiry through departure.
DAY 1
Land at San Diego International Airport (SAN) and take your included private transfer to your hotel. After settling in, ease into the trip with a relaxed visit to San Diego Zoo — World-renowned zoo in Balboa Park with pandas and a globally recognized conservation program. Round off the evening with a welcome dinner introducing you to local flavors.
DAY 2
Morning visit to San Diego Zoo Safari Park — Large safari-style wildlife park in Escondido, sister site to the main zoo. In the afternoon, continue to USS Midway Museum — Retired aircraft carrier turned floating naval aviation museum. Evening free to explore local restaurants and nightlife.
DAY 3
Morning visit to SeaWorld San Diego — Marine life theme park with shows and rides. In the afternoon, continue to Birch Aquarium at Scripps — Oceanographic aquarium affiliated with UC San Diego. Evening free to explore local restaurants and nightlife.
DAY 4
Full-day excursion to Tijuana, Mexico (border crossing), a popular side trip from San Diego. Return to San Diego in the evening with time free to explore on your own.
DAY 5
A lighter day to recharge, shop, or add an optional experience. Popular choices include Sunset Cliffs tide pools — your consultant can book add-ons like this on request.
DAY 6
Morning visit to Cabrillo National Monument — Historic lighthouse and tide pools at Point Loma, with whale-watching overlooks. In the afternoon, continue to Legoland California, Carlsbad — Family theme park roughly 35 minutes north of downtown. Evening free to explore local restaurants and nightlife.
DAY 7
Enjoy a final morning at leisure — perhaps one last visit to Balboa Park or some souvenir shopping — before your private transfer to SAN for your departure flight.
Citizens of Visa Waiver Program countries can enter with an approved ESTA for stays up to 90 days. Other nationalities, including Indian passport holders, require a B1/B2 visitor visa obtained in advance via a US embassy/consulate interview.

Birch Aquarium at Scripps alone was worth the trip, but combined with Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve trails this itinerary really delivered. Breakfast at the hotel was good every day and the local guide was knowledgeable.

Everything was handled for us — flights, hotel, transfers, and tours to La Jolla Cove and USS Midway Museum. Great communication from the consultant before departure too.

Booked this as a family of 4 trip and it was well paced. Old Town San Diego State Historic Park in particular stood out. A couple of the transfers ran a little late but nothing that spoiled the trip.

We added a couple of optional activities beyond Cabrillo National Monument and don't regret it. Good value for what was included, and the food recommendations from our guide were spot on.

San Diego is stunning and this package covered the essentials well, especially Birch Aquarium at Scripps. The hotel could have been a little closer to the center but transport was easy.
