Spend 2 days discovering Varanasi, India — Hot continental climate typical of the Gangetic plains: scorching summers (highs 40-42°C in May-June), a humid monsoon July-September that raises the river level significantly, and cool, foggy winters (highs 22-24°C, cold mornings near 8-10°C). October to March, with cooler mornings (highs 22-27°C) ideal for sunrise boat rides on the Ganges; avoid the extreme heat of May-June. This itinerary blends Sarnath Archaeological Museum, Ramnagar Fort, Dashashwamedh Ghat with free time to explore at your own pace, backed by round-trip flights, handpicked accommodation, and a dedicated travel consultant from enquiry through departure.
DAY 1
Land at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport (VNS) and take your included private transfer to your hotel. With limited time on the ground, head straight out to Sarnath Archaeological Museum — Ashokan-era Buddhist relics near where Buddha gave his first sermon. Round off the evening with a welcome dinner introducing you to local flavors.
DAY 2
Start early with a visit to Ramnagar Fort — Riverside fort-palace of the former Maharaja of Varanasi, with a vintage museum. Grab a last taste of local life before your private transfer to VNS for your onward flight.
Most foreign nationals require an Indian e-Visa applied for online before travel. Indian citizens need no visa, and OCI/PIO cardholders travel visa-free with a linked foreign passport, common for diaspora visitors on a pilgrimage or heritage trip.

We added a couple of optional activities beyond Vishwanath Gali and don't regret it. Good value for what was included, and the food recommendations from our guide were spot on.

Everything was handled for us — flights, hotel, transfers, and tours to Assi Ghat and Ganges sunrise boat ride. Great communication from the consultant before departure too.

Banaras Hindu University campus alone was worth the trip, but combined with Ganges sunrise boat ride this itinerary really delivered. Breakfast at the hotel was good every day and the local guide was knowledgeable.

Our trip to Varanasi was fantastic from start to finish. The hotel was clean and well located, and the guided visit to Ganges sunrise boat ride was a real highlight. Airport transfers were on time both ways.

Varanasi is stunning and this package covered the essentials well, especially Ganges evening boat ride for Ganga Aarti. The hotel could have been a little closer to the center but transport was easy.
