Spend 7 days discovering Xi'an, China — Semi-humid continental climate — hot summers (highs around 32-33°C) and cold, dry winters (highs around 6-7°C). March-May and September-November, for mild temperatures ideal for visiting outdoor sites like the Terracotta Army. This itinerary blends Terracotta Army, Xi'an City Wall bike ride, Muslim Quarter with free time to explore at your own pace, backed by round-trip flights, handpicked accommodation, and a dedicated travel consultant from enquiry through departure.
DAY 1
Land at Xi'an Xianyang International Airport (XIY) and take your included private transfer to your hotel. After settling in, ease into the trip with a relaxed visit to Terracotta Army — Thousands of life-sized clay soldiers guarding Emperor Qin's tomb, discovered in 1974. Round off the evening with a welcome dinner introducing you to local flavors.
DAY 2
Morning visit to Xi'an City Wall bike ride — Cycle the complete loop atop the best-preserved ancient city wall in China. In the afternoon, continue to Big Wild Goose Pagoda — Tang-dynasty Buddhist pagoda with an evening fountain and light show nearby. Evening free to explore local restaurants and nightlife.
DAY 3
Morning visit to Huaqing Palace — Imperial hot-spring retreat at the foot of Mount Li, near the Terracotta Army. In the afternoon, continue to Muslim Quarter — Historic Hui-Muslim neighborhood of food stalls and the Great Mosque. Evening free to explore local restaurants and nightlife.
DAY 4
Full-day excursion to Mount Huashan, a popular side trip from Xi'an. Return to Xi'an in the evening with time free to explore on your own.
DAY 5
A lighter day to recharge, shop, or add an optional experience. Popular choices include Shaanxi History Museum — your consultant can book add-ons like this on request.
DAY 6
Morning visit to Great Mosque of Xi'an — Centuries-old mosque blending Chinese and Islamic architecture. In the afternoon, continue to Bell Tower and Drum Tower — Ming-dynasty towers at the city center, illuminated at night (exterior free, interior paid). Evening free to explore local restaurants and nightlife.
DAY 7
Enjoy a final morning at leisure — perhaps one last visit to Terracotta Army or some souvenir shopping — before your private transfer to XIY for your departure flight.

We added a couple of optional activities beyond Huaqing Palace and don't regret it. Good value for what was included, and the food recommendations from our guide were spot on.

Terracotta Army alone was worth the trip, but combined with Great Mosque of Xi'an this itinerary really delivered. Breakfast at the hotel was good every day and the local guide was knowledgeable.

Booked this as a family of 4 trip and it was well paced. Xi'an City Wall bike ride in particular stood out. A couple of the transfers ran a little late but nothing that spoiled the trip.
