Can I take my dog in the cabin on British Airways?
No. British Airways does not permit pets in the cabin on any route — only recognised assistance dogs. Pets must travel as cargo through IAG Cargo, booked separately and usually via a pet shipping agent, at considerably higher cost.
Am I owed compensation if my BA flight is delayed?
If your flight departed the UK or EU and arrived more than three hours late, UK261/EU261 entitles you to cash compensation of £220–£520 per passenger unless the cause was extraordinary. It applies to US citizens and is separate from any refund. BA will not offer it automatically — you must claim.
Can I get money back on an unused non-refundable BA ticket?
Partly. Even on a non-refundable fare, the government taxes and airport charges component remains refundable when you do not fly. On a long-haul ticket this can be a few hundred dollars. Request it through Manage My Booking.
